I have told you a little about Donly Koshowsky who sits in the Cullman County Jail as I write this blog. At one point Donly was threatened at gunpoint by his previous ex-father-in-law at the city police parking lot (a safe zone) for drop off and pick up. Donly was told by the ex-father-in-law that he would blow his “faggot brains out.” Donly received a police report from the incident. The city told Donly the judge refused to allow a warrant for the father-in-law. Now let me get this straight... This guy pulls a gun on Donly in the Chief of Police’s parking lot, the gun is in the guy's car, there is video, and nobody can get a warrant for this guy?
I'm not saying the magistrate is a Fibber Mcgee but I can't believe that in hearing all the evidence the judge would have denied a warrant that would have protected Donly is this situation.
I tend to trust most local government employees and officials but I am aware that one Magistrate in Cullman was arrested and fired for manipulating a warrant or something to that effect. Though I realize that all magistrates are not bad I just have a hard time believing that any judge was involved in knowingly allowing a man to hold a gun on another man in the City Police parking lot “safe zone” and doing nothing.
You see folks - Donly has made himself heard in Cullman for concerns he has regarding a very sensitive matter. I can't say I would not have done the same if every time I turned around I was being arrested for a misdemeanor. Sometimes it's all about building a case. My question is why have all the judges recused themselves?
It sounds like the ex-daddy-in-law has a hard-on for Donly and somebody is trying to help out within the city of Cullman. If ex-daddy-in-law can't get him one way maybe he can get him for suing him in civil court both in Cullman and Tuscaloosa Counties. Sue for what? How about allegedly taking things from the material home that belonged to him and his wife. So why file two suits? Oh! By the way... Did you know a lot of the stuff that has been claimed stolen was given to others and there are affidavits that prove it?
Arrests made, keep Donly in jail, the more the merrier, have fun with someone's rights. I was asked by the Chief of Police today if I know how bad this guy is. The answer is no, but I understand there are some videos that show there is more than one side to every story. Most folks do not rack up 9, 10, or 11 misdemeanors unless they are desperate and worried. Maybe he is desperately worried about a loved one. The videos, text, and audio that I am concerned with are making me believe that this guy wants to be heard. He believes nobody cares to listen to him so he has acted up, cursed a few cops, and maybe been disrespectful.
In my opinion and according to the text and explicit pictures I've seen he should be worried. A man holds a gun on me ? I kinda take that seriously. What is behind all of this? What's the motivation? I had a conversation with Chief Culpepper today and it sounds like, according to him, Donly is a bad guy.
What I know is that Donly served in the Marines (thank you for your service Donly) and received an honorable discharge. Donly should have a voice, let his evidence be seen, let him show you what he has been through. After seeing a text from a pimp and one of his Donly's family members, I am dang sure concerned. I am concerned about that and a lot of the data I have seen. Once all of the information is revealed to the courts - then maybe Donly can get a fair shake.
I was born and raised in Cullman County. I love the county but sometimes you see things that just don't sound right. I have that feeling about what is going on and with the City Police Chief.

Nothing about this supervises me. This has been the City of Cullman for decades. Cheif Culpepper is up to his eyeballs in this mess, everyone knows it, and no one does anything. I am very thankful you have stepped up to take on the Cullman Corruption, maybe now this man will have fair chance.
Cullman is known for back room deals and good ole boy law. Nothing about this surprises me. 32 years as Chief for a reason I'd say. That's a lot of time to make friends in high places!
I've known Donly Kowshowsky since childhood and stayed close to the family all these years. After his divorce, I helped him with a few things for his new home and occasionally provided childcare for his son. I also accompanied Donly to several of his son's doctors appointments, witnessing firsthand the various levels of abuse and neglect the little boy sustains to this this day....FROM HIS MOTHER. Donly is a PROTECTOR and instead of rolling over and allowing the system to walk all over his rights as a parent and walk all over his son's rights to safety, he continues to stand up to the so called justice system. His voice for change, his voice asking the law to side with his son's best interest, is what has landed him in jail, subjected him to abuse of the legal system, and he has been treated with prejudice instead of justice. Ive witnessed firsthand his ex wife's neglect, refusal to communicate, and refusal to come to all of her sons doctors appointments. I was there. Donly was there. Instead, her and her family, the ex father in law who pulled a gun, threaten and attack Donly every chance they get, with no legal reprecussions, using their srepercussions, against Donly. I see the cops turning a blind eye to all of it. Someone is being paid off on all the high places....injustice should not be happening to the one man who is trying to literally save his son ever single chance he gets.
I write this because I have also been the friend to call DHR and give character references and statements of what I witnessed, all of which are ignored. Ive offered to testify in court but the judges shut down the case or reschedule without ever hearing Donlys voice!!! I sincerely hope Cullman County judicial sysyem gets a complete overhaul, but in the meantime, the one thing they can't get away with is ignoring voices who get louder and stronger!
Donly and his son need all the voices who are able. Donly defended this country, the least we can do is defend his parental rights and help put and end to his harassmemt!
I can't belive such corruption continues in this day and age! Donley's only thought is for his son! He served his country in the military and now he has to fight to protect his own child. I have the utmost respect for this father who, sadly, has gone thru hell and high water to see his son. I pray that someone (you know, those in "high places") will stop submitting to peer pressures and do the right thing...for Donley AND for the sake of this young boy who DESERVES to continue to experience the love of his father and his fathers family.
The local news outlets need to be contacted. Take all of your well documented proof along with videos and lay the story out for them.
Keep on them until someone decides to look into it and then they will run a story. The more publicized this is the better. The squeaky wheel gets the oil! Prayers and best wishes are being sent for this young father and son.
Yes, the news needs to be contacted!!
My question is, WHY is the evidence not being taken seriously? I have seen the photos of the abuse this child has endured. HOW can the judicial system NOT do something about a child that is being hurt?????
How can a magistrate simply refuse to issue a warrant? What gives them that kind of authority? It absolutely disgusts me that our legal system still has such corruption in it. Keep after Chief Culpepper just like you did that disgrace of a sheriff Ana Franklin. We need more like the Whistleblower, who are not afraid to stand up to the powers that be!!
I pray this stops! #MenHaveRightstoo
#saveourchildern
This has got to stop! Fathers can be the best parent for the child. We have to let go of the mentality that just because a woman is the mother, she is the best parent. So many times this is not the case, and it definitely is not the case here. I sure hope you can help this man, and his son.
Cullman has always been this was. Just the Good ole boys! No one has ever had the balls to take them down. I am happy you are up to the task, best of luck!
This is not fair! I have watched while the law has been broken over and over by the other side. A blind eye keeps being turned , yet Donley keeps being arrested on false charges? This has to stop! Take them down Whistle Blower!
#saveourchildren
Stop letting innocent children get hurt in your childish vendetta against his father! So wrong, and so wrong for the City of Cullman to allow you to do it! Abuse of power!
AMENDED DUE TO SENSETIVE MATERIAL: I have been a friend of the family since childhood. Donly is a PROTECTOR and instead of rolling over and allowing the system to walk all over his rights as a parent and walk all over his rights to safety, he continues to stand up to the so called justice system. His voice for change, his voice asking the law to side with his best interest, is what has landed him in jail, subjected him to abuse of the legal system, and he has been treated with prejudice instead of justice. Ive witnessed firsthand his ex wife's neglect, refusal to communicate. Instead, her and her family, the ex father in law who pulled a gun, threaten and attack Donly every chance they get, with no legal reprecussions, using their political influence against Donly. I see the cops turning a blind eye to all of it. Someone is being paid off on all the high places....injustice should not be happening to the one man who is trying to literally do the right thing by his family.
I write this because I have also been the friend to call DHR and give character references and statements of what I witnessed, all of which are ignored. How much longer can this go on? So much corruption. So much abuse of power. I can promise you this gentleman is NOT the first this has happened to, hopefully he will be the last.
Victim blaming and punishing a victim by allowing the aggressor to sue him is almost as corrupt as they can get. The local law is not protecting the victim here and turning a blind eye that this is also affecting a little boy by keeping him in an unsafe environment. How much more before the state or federal government steps in to put a stop to this hell?
While I understand that there are numerous sides to every story, I feel compelled to warn you that Chief Culpepper is in fact correct about Donley. He is abusive, dangerous, and has assaulted numerous women as well as struck the very child he claims to protect. He uses social media and so called news outlets to manipulate his story so that he gains the sympathy of the community. The truth of the matter is that Donley is everything he claims that the mother of his child is. Donley has committed many acts of domestic violence, lied, stolen, and destroyed lives. You judge and question the father in law but is he not a father too? What if what has been said is true and Donley was the aggressor (which I know to be true) and that father was protecting his child and grandchild? That man is a wolf in sheep clothing. As far as the photos he spread on the internet, those were filtered and photoshopped photos that he altered to fit his lies. I am not friend of the mother or her family and do not know them personally but as far as Donely, he is truly a monster.
PART ONE:
If people do their research, they’ll find out that Alabama is one of the most corrupt states in the country! Throughout the decades, it’s managed to always show up in the top ten of being one of the most corrupt states!
https://www.al.com/opinion/2014/12/alabama_one_of_the_most_corrup.html
https://www.al.com/news/2019/01/alabama-corruption-just-keeps-coming.html
I grew up in Cullman County and I'm well aware of how the Cullman County court systems, police departments, and DHR immorally operates.
There must be a reason why attorneys from other counties refuse to accept cases in Cullman. Could it be that the court system doesn’t take too kindly to “outsiders”? It seems as though that they like to keep their legal representation local.
Why do you think that is?
Could Cullman’s “Good Ole Boys Club” be corruptly working together to “double dip”? Could they intentionally be throwing cases for their “piece of the pie”? If so, that means that they are not only getting paid by their client who believes that they have their best interest at heart, but also getting paid by the opposing party for throwing the case. Could the judges possibly be in on it too?
After everything that I’ve personally witnessed, read online, and heard from other victims who were subjected Cullman’s corruption… anything is possible.

(The article stated that Sheriff Gentry said that he does not believe someone from Cullman is dispersing the literature. Really Mr. Gentry?)
Cullman is well-known for its VERY long history of racism and its KKK. Does anyone remember the little black boy from Childhaven Orphanage who was the first black child to attend school in Cullman? I do! His name was Virgil Threatt. The KKK protested and lined the doors of East Elementary. Strange how you can’t pull up any online archives about it and what that poor child went through. I failed to mention that this happened in the early 80’s not the 50’s. What about the cross burnings and signs posted in Cullman warning black people not to enter Mr. Gentry? https://www.tuscaloosanews.com/article/DA/20060305/news/606110354/TL
If you have deep pockets you can buy your way out of anything!
Dr. Gregory Windham was arrested by the Cullman Police Department for a DUI. His arrest made The Cullman Times the next day.
Dr. Windham was held overnight in jail at the police station. He left the “drunk tank” the next morning and drove straight to the hospital, took a shower in the doctor’s locker room, put on hospital scrubs, and performed surgeries that were scheduled for him early that morning. A family member just so happened to be reading The Cullman Times in the waiting room, while Dr. Windham was performing surgery on their loved one back in the OR. After reading the article in the Cullman Times, the family member was LIVID (openly pitched a fit in the waiting room) about how he was operating after being in the drunk tank all night.
It’s alleged that Dr. Windham paid the Cullman Police Department a very hefty fee to erase his arrest record so that he didn’t have to submit his DUI to the medical board. It was rumored that he even admitted paying off the police department to get rid of his arrest record after a nurse was talking about getting out of a speeding ticket that she received because her husband had a friend who was a police officer. After the hospital incident with the LIVID family, The Cullman Times news article was soon erased from reading it online. Apparently, ANYONE can be bought off in Cullman!
In the police report, it was documented that he refused a sobriety test, cussed out, and verbally threatened the arresting police officers. It was even documented that Dr. Windham mentioned that they (arresting officers) better hope that they didn’t end up in the ER if they were ever injured (basically alluding to how he’d let them suffer or die).
Even though his police report may have “disappeared” from the police department, there’s still a copy that’s been placed in safe hands.
PART TWO:
Just to give you an idea, here's a short incomplete list of some reported corruption in Cullman:
1.Zeb Little- Former Alabama senator and Cullman attorney Zeb Little pleads guilty to stealing from legal clients.
https://www.al.com/news/2019/09/former-alabama-senator-zeb-little-pleads-guilty-to-stealing-from-legal-clients.html
2.Chaney retired recently as investigators accused him of wrongly sending $105,000 in court-appointed legal work to his attorney son, Alex Chaney, from 2015 through 2017. Chaney also was accused of wrongly ruling in cases involving his son. It's worth noting that Chaney continued to serve on the bench for three years AFTER being accused.
Judge Chaney also got off with just a slap on the back of the hands! NOT surprising…

3.On September 13, 2018, a federal judge ruled Alabama's bail system discriminatory under the premise that jailing people who cannot afford bail is unconstitutional. These Cullman judges INTENTIONALLY set the bail too high.

4. How many Cullman Law Enforcement Officers, attorneys, and government public officials/employees have been accused of accepting bribes, mismanaging/stealing funds, or corruptly interfering with investigations? There have also been countless complaints from Cullman County citizens about how these public officials/employees have accepted money or other kickbacks to erase arrest records, deny protection orders, corrupt crime scene investigations etc.

Unfortunately, if this man was indeed wrongfully accused/convicted of a crime that he didn’t commit, I can see how it could lead to mental issues or worsen pre-existing mental issues.)

PART FOUR:
5.It was also rumored that a former employee who worked for Dr. Windham at Surgical Arts, P.C. confided in a friend about some illegal issues that were transpiring at the facility. She told her friend that she planned on meeting with Dr. Windham’s wife to make her aware of what all had been transpiring. It was the last time that she would hear from her friend because she was found dead with a bullet to the back of the head. She told me that her death was somehow ruled a “suicide”.
6.The Surgery Center of Cullman (in which Dr. Windham was CEO of at the time and one of the largest SCC stockholders in) was found guilty of sexual harassment. Dr. Windham was well aware of the traumatizing work environment that employees were subjected to. The doctors who worked there owned 75% of the facility, while SCA owned a mere 25%. Therefore, they ran that surgery center like a frat house. They did as they pleased because they didn’t have to answer to anyone, but themselves. I personally believe that their harassment, threats, and assaults were intentionally “over the top” so that nobody would actually believe that it happened. Dr. Windham ignored employee complaints and covered for Dr. Kevin Johnson.

https://www.cullmantribune.com/2017/10/05/800k-judgment-in-sexual-harassment-case-involving-surgery-center-of-cullman-dr-kevin-johnson/
7.Prior to the above Surgery Center of Cullman lawsuit, it is rumored that a former SCC employee alleged that she had proof of countless cases of Medicaid fraud that transpired at the facility. While she was still employed at the center, she met with Rusty Turner (who was a Cullman attorney at the time. He’s now a district judge in Cullman) to review her allegations of a harassment, hostile work environment, and evidence of Medicaid fraud. The former employee told a friend that she was devasted by Mr. Turner’s response. She claimed that he told her that he couldn’t take her case on because of who all was involved in it and didn’t know of ANY attorney in Cullman who would accept her case. She also alleged that he warned her that if she decided to seek legal counsel outside of Cullman, that the Cullman court system “didn’t take too kindly to outsiders”. Shortly after her meeting with Mr. Turner, she alleged that the hostile work environment worsened for her. The poor lady feared for her safety, felt as though she was fighting a losing battle, quit her job, and gave up legal pursuit.
Why on earth would Cullman County’s law enforcement need $5.8M in military equipment whenever the population and crime rates didn’t support it? Do your research and connect the dots folks…

I’ve never been able to understand how Cullman has managed to fly under the F.B.I. radar for as long as they have and it is past time for it to come to an end!
Best of luck fighting Cullman’s corruption Mr. Kowshowsky and don’t give up the fight!
