Reports: Pipe bomb at Dale County Sheriff’s Office connected to murder of woman, 22
The pipe bomb discovered Tuesday that prompted the evacuation of the Dale County Sheriff’s Office and the Ozark-Dale County E911 Center is connected to the murder investigation of a 22-year-old woman, according to media reports.
The explosive device was in a duffel bag at the Ozark home of Mitchell Doster, whom authorities detained in the murder of Orchid Bolin, according to the Dothan Eagle. Authorities were conducting a search warrant of the home.
The duffel bag was taken to the sheriff’s office on Tuesday when authorities searched the bag in connection with the Bolin case and discovered the pipe bomb.
Olin’s body was found earlier this month riddled with gunshots in a wooded area in Barbour County near the Dale County line, the Eagle reported.
Dale County Sheriff Wally Olson told Montgomery NBC affiliate WSFAthat authorities are making progress on the investigation into Bolin’s death.
“Close to a month now on bringing closure to this case. I believe we’re getting close to doing that,” he told the station. “We’ll continue to put the pieces together and there will be arrests made.”
