We appreciate the Alabama Sheriffs Association - For finally stepping up to the plate

Blogger Comments:  Folks this is what we need.  Alabama citizens and politicians standing together to fix a long-term issue.  This old antiquated law must be changed.  We follow the State Attorney General Opinions and have blogged many times in opinion of food funds as well as sections within the Alabama Code 1975 that identify inmate food funds as releasable information to the public.

This isn't rocket science.  It's called common sense.  It appears that everyone is getting on board to make changes within the state that makes us a better more powerful state.

Please read this article to better understand the process.  It is clear that the Legislature is the only ones who have the authority to change the law.  What that means for us is that we must use due diligence to force the Legislature into making these much-needed changes to the law.

Ivey takes small step on sheriff jail food funds but can't end the practice on her own

  4. The AP picked this up. Yet another National embarrassment of a story on the low life criminal Sheriff. This woman is an embarrassment and an imbecile for not resigning. How much embarrassment must she put her family through. When she and her family members are arrested and this all comes out, the whole nation will be watching because she won’t resign. What a looser! She had many fooled for a little while. How many will her publicity expose before she is forcefully removed from office drawing that much more attention to the other Sheriffs in this state and beyond.

  7. Ana has lost the county insurance lawyers, her partner in crime Barney Lovelace has been named as a part of this and can no longer represent Ana because of being a co conspiring part of all of this who did significantly financially gain from the criminal actions. The county is not supplying her a lawyer because it has to protect itself in the mounting civil liability. Ana still has some of her money make my scams going on in the jail with Dee Goodwin and others. She will not resign because without her scams she can’t pay the latest of lawyers. Wonder when he wises up and jumps ship like the others? She had to go all the way to Tuscaloosa to get this meat head. With more of the civil coming out and the criminal looming like never before, it’s very clear that impeachment will be the only way to stop her scams and destruction of the Sheriffs Office and those who stood to expose her. She is not mentally stable at all. Anyone seen her lately. She is so strung out on dope she could care less about reality. This whole situation has been drawn out for a long time by Ana’s stall tactics. Seems those who suffer because of her will have to continue to do so. When will this madness end? National disgrace. Embarrassing to all Law Enforcement world wide. So many had so high hopes and this Sheriff was the worst criminal in history. Much like business partner and cousin Greg Steenson who is in jail without bond over this. How is that fair? Sheriffs above the law? Nope just takes longer to take them down.

    1. Did she have to sleep with him also to get the latest of many to represent her? I hear Ana and her daughter may get some time together. They need to have quality time since they both throwing each other under the bus. No one is responsible everyone says it’s everyone else’s fault. Steven and Steenson catching most of it. And Steenson was so over the top crazy nice to his niece while she worked for him. Keeping it in the family there? That is still illegal also. Tap tap fiz fiz OH what a relief it is.

  9. Go to the Internet and search corrupt female Sheriff. Any search engine. Who is the #1 first hit? Ana Woodard Franklin. Isn’t her family so proud. Ana is infamous. Ex boyfriends and soon to be ex boyfriend, daughter and cousin along with several very shallow and arrogant greedy followers who thought they knew what being a cop was will all be going down with her.

  10. It's called KARMA Ana, how does it feel? You are knocked off the high pedestal you've been on since 2011. Remember all the employee, ex-employee lives you destroyed? You are getting yours now.
