A scam, embezzlement, houses, cash, vehicles, boats, and mismanagement among some of the claims that have been identified in a filing by the Trustee of the Chapter 11 Bankruptcy of the Performance Auto Sales.
If you are not a reader of the Decatur Daily you need to pick up a paper this morning. We have been reporting issues involving Sheriff Ana Franklin, Steven Ziaja, Greg Steenson and others for over two years regarding Performance Auto Sales. We did not report on Harold Jeffreys even though a source who calls himself "treetrimmer" has taunted us for a couple of years that we should be looking at Mr. Jeffreys. Treetrimmer promised to send his "proof". The proof never came until approximately two weeks ago when treetrimmer started sending us parts of a far bigger problem. The only problem is he only sent us the information pertaining to the Jeffreys. We waited for the rest of the story. When the whistleblower began exposing corruption within the sheriff's office, the Performance Auto Sales popped up early on in the blog. Unfortunately, this story has many tentacles as an octopus and it just keeps growing.
We have been dogged on the blog for the last couple of week and sent private emails from someone who calls himself treetrimmer. I have personally been accused of vulgar acts with one of the owners, Mr. Jeffreys. I have been accused of being paid off by one of the owners, Mr. Jeffreys. It is easy to tell what triggers the treetrimmer conduct. All we dare do is mention Performance Auto Sales and a few choice names. Treetrimmer never stops because he does not want us to tell the truth. Treetrimmer doesn't want the people to know the entire story of the worthless people he has surrounded himself with. Treetrimmer has told on himself.
We revealed that Sheriff Franklin, Alyssa Franklin, Steven Ziaja, Greg Steenson, and members of the MCSO such as Bones Wilson and Blake Robinson were involved with the Performance Auto Sales dealership and had invested in the dealership. We know this because we have some of the records.
They involved themselves in a scam, a scam that cheated a lot of good people out of their hard-earned money. They were a part of the scam. Greg Steenson along with Steven Ziaja and Ana Franklin and their friends and family hopped on the bandwagon to get their fair share.
Treetrimminer has fed us information over the last couple of weeks hoping we would post information so that it would take the heat off of some of the sorry scoundrels we talk about on the blog. He wanted us to report prematurely about the allegations surrounding Mr. Jeffreys and his family. If all of the attention is placed on Jeffreys maybe people will not notice Sheriff Franklin and others are also mentioned in the story. We refused to tell the story that treetrimmer wanted out on Mr. Jeffreys until the entire story was officially posted on Pacer.
I believe the Decatur Daily laid the story out very well. Our readers deserve the entire story so check out the daily.
We are glad we waited for the rest of the story.
The Decatur Daily lays it all out. It leaves no stone unturned. A lot of people profited. I am disappointed in the allegations some are facing but not surprised in others, It appears that in the case of Performance Auto Sales nobody wins. There is a lot of money that must be paid back to those who invested in a company that they believed in. We hope everyone involved does the right thing.
It looks as if the saga of the Performance Auto Sales will continue on for several more months. Most likely about the same amount of time the issues with the MCSO saga plays out.
Treetrimmer is a sly ole dog who tried very hard to taunt the whistleblowers into letting the cat out of the bag before it's time. Treetrimmer wants the public to believe that the whistleblowers are in cahoots with this mess and that we protected Mr. Jeffreys. We didn't and we are not in cahoots with anybody. Treetrimmer refused to provide us with honest and truthful information that didn't pertain to all of the players. He only wanted Mr,. Jeffrey to be hammered. Well, Mr. Jeffreys is being hammered and so is a bunch of others.
The bottom line is that Mr. Jeffreys is alleged to have removed almost 1M dollars from the dealership. His son, son-in-law, and daughter are also caught up in the complaint. If Mr. Jeffreys took the money he should pay it back. Ana did. A lot of hard-working men and women lost their vehicles and their money at the dealership. Some of those people were the poorest of the poorest who paid their hard earned money for those vehicles.
Parts of the Trustee's complaint alleges that Alyssa Franklin the daughter of Sheriff Ana Franklin forgave a debt for a vehicle her boyfriend purchased at Priceville Partners. A forgiveness she did not have the authority to give. The vehicle was said to be purchased below cost and financed below-market interest rate. You may remember that we blogged about Jonathan Stebbins early on in the blog. Sheriff Ana Franklin hired Jonathan Stebbins to work as a corrections officer in the Morgan County Jail while he was spending his weekends in jail in Limestone County. During Stebbins six weeks of employment, he was arrested two or three more times before being allowed to resign without proper notice from the sheriff's office. Corrections Officer Hayes was forced out of the MCSO because Sheriff Ana Franklin believed that Hayes was feeding the whistleblower information. Corrections Officer Hayes never provided the whistleblowers' information.
Remember Risky Business? The boat or Sports Yacht we blogged about over a year ago. The boat was purchased by Roger Renfroe from Greg Steenson. Greg Steenson, Steven Ziaja, and Sheriff Ana Franklin boated together in happier days. We found out that Greg Steenson and Steven Ziaja cleaned the boat out while it was stored at a Decatur marina and moved it to a marina in Florence.
Greg Steenson signed documents in Federal Court agreeing that he owed the business approximately 3M dollars. Folks, this is money that most of us can't even imagine. How and why did sheriff Ana Franklin, Steven Ziaja, Bones Wilson, Blake Robinson, Alyssa Franklin, Jonathan Stebbins, John Vinegoni, and many other of Sheriff Franklin's family and friends get caught up in the Performance Auto Sales mess? Greed.
Both Greg Steenson and Steven Ziaja have been arrested and are facing charges for actions taken in the Performance Auto Sales debacle. The question is who is next?
