More on the warden and Franklin's lies continue

Blogger Comments:  We had several debatable comments on the blog for a change.  Some still want to bash the warden while others know that there is more to come.  Sheriff Franklin is ticked to the point of being furious and ranting because Warden Bradley was not charged with a felony.  It seems that Franklin thought that she could find a sheriff that would give her what she wanted and she failed again.  Most sheriffs are honest hard working people.  Franklin's conduct is that of a spoiled child it is her way or no way.  Franklin must be about 55 years old.  It is high time that she realizes that what Ana wants isn't always what she gets.  Grow up, ole girl.  Franklin contacted multiple sheriff's offices trying to get one that would give her what she wanted. Franklin must think that because she is corrupt all sheriffs are corrupt.  Wrong again Franklin. Franklin must also assume that since big Luther Strange the previous State Attorney General was corrupt that the new one would be corrupt as well. Think again, Ana, law enforcement across the state has your number.

Whatever your thoughts are on this subject they are subject to change.  The whistleblowers predict that there is far more to come.  Franklin lied about additional charges that may be pending against Warden Bradley.  Why?  Because she has a need to spin lies to make herself look better plus Franklin can't tell the truth. Franklin should be more worried about the charges that are pending against her than anything else.  She is praying for misdemeanors instead of the felonies she faces.  In Franklin's own words "I'm not sure if this one charge is everything rolled into one or if more charges are coming," Franklin said.

Let's talk about egregious conduct and behavior.  Franklin was recently found guilty of Contempt of Court in the Northern District Federal Court System in Morgan County.  Franklin stole $150,000.00 from inmate food funds and used them to invest in the bankrupt Title Mart business.  Franklin is facing Federal Court again on October 4th and 5th.  Can you imagine the felony charge she could have faced if she had not paid the money back?  In addition, Franklin should be shaking in her spandex jeans each she thinks about flint creek and outside agencies that are looking at her.

Franklin made all kind of claims against Warden Bradley as seen in her own words  Franklin tried to make Warden Bradley out to be a kingpin, bad to the bone.  His termination notice said he violated department policies concerning acceptable internet use, misusing county property, compromising confidential information, removing county property without authorization, and providing information detrimental to the Sheriff’s Office to someone outside the office.

“The totality of what’s on here is the part that’s egregious,” Franklin said in December of the violations cited on the notice. “I think it speaks for itself as far as why (he was fired)."

We believe that Warden Bradley may have turned over documents that are detrimental to the Morgan County Sheriff to outside law enforcement agencies but those documents did not go to the whistleblowers.  With the claims, Franklin made in her termination of Warden Bradley the only thing that law enforcement found was a 3rd-degree misdemeanor.  As we said earlier she is as mad as a hornet that Warden Bradley was not charged with felony counts.  Franklin lost her ace in the hole.

The only thing detrimental to the Morgan County Sheriff's Office is Sheriff Ana Franklin.

 Ex-Morgan warden charged with tampering

Former Morgan County Jail Warden Leon Bradley faces a misdemeanor tampering charge following his arrest Friday.
Bradley, 62, of Decatur, said he was charged with tampering with government records.
“I was aware this was a possibility based on the sheriff’s past statements,” Bradley said Friday afternoon. “I was notified by my attorney a warrant had been filed and I turned myself in at the Morgan County Jail midday (Friday).”
He was released on $300 bail. He said a hearing for 9 a.m. Oct. 26 in District Court has been set.
Sheriff Ana Franklin said the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office and the Alabama Attorney General's Office are handling the investigation.
"Early on, we sought out an independent third-party agency to investigate, and that was Etowah County," Franklin said.
She said Etowah County obtained the warrant.
"I'm not sure if this one charge is everything rolled into one or if more charges are coming," Franklin said.
Tampering with government records is a Class A misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail and a fine of up to $6,000.
According to court filings, Bradley was fired as warden Oct. 13, 2016, for allegedly feeding sensitive information about the Sheriff’s Office to Falkville businesswoman Glenda Lockhart, who manages a blog that has been critical of Franklin. Franklin said he was fired for violating several office policies.
Authorities executed a search warrant on Bradley’s Southwest Decatur home in early October. Court records show deputies seized at least 27 items, including computers and flash drives from his home.
Bradley, who became warden Aug. 13, 2003, had not been cited for any policy violations nor had any disciplinary actions been taken against him during his 13 years with the Sheriff's Office, according to his personnel file. The file was provided by Franklin in response to a public records request from The Decatur Daily. This is the first criminal charge against Bradley related to the case.
Bradley received “good” and “very good” grades by former Sheriff Greg Bartlett when Bradley’s probationary period ended after he was hired. He received “good” and “excellent” marks on a 2009 evaluation by Bartlett.
Bradley was in charge of more than 60 educational and church programs for inmates. He also handled inmate needs, Franklin said, at the time of his firing.
Bradley’s attorney, Nick Heatherly of Huntsville, could not be reached for comment Friday afternoon.
Morgan County District Attorney Scott Anderson said his office is not involved in the investigation. He said he has recused his office from the case because of his acquaintance with Bradley.
“I know Bradley personally,” Anderson said in December. “I’ve known him for many years.”

  2. Leon's slow demise came after Ana hired her campaign supporter Larry Berzette. That is when things started to go down hill for Leon. I witnessed all he went through...all responsibilities taken away...then on comes his wife to handle the checkbooks.(We wont tell what you are spending)... Poor Leon wasn't stupid..he was basically sitting in his office trying to pass the time while big bad Berzette came in a started barking orders. He knew the writing on the wall. Ana has spun this story to make herself right...not. Leon was a good man...he CARED. Shame on her for what she did to this man and many others. From all sources she will be experiencing the same mess in the very near future. Spin That

  3. I certainly don't know a whole lot about the law, but it's apparent the Alabama Attorney General and the Etowah Sheriff saw enough actual EVIDENCE to arrest Mr. Bradley. At this point,I guess it's just an accusation, reckon he'll fight it?

  4. I hear Leon had working documents at his house involving complains employees planned on filing against Ana. I bet she was pissed. I can say this the whistleblowers was right about Ana being as mad as hell because no felony charges was issued. She told everybody that this is huge. I have Leon and Glenda on felony charges. This mess is over. Now I can focus on my campaign. Nobody screams like Ana when she is mad and right now she is mad. When Blake brought Bradleys property in there was all kinds of cameras, and videos, and computers he never got back. The investigation on that stuff was completed months ago. Why didn't he get his property back? It is probably in the river or sold to the highest bidder.

  6. The reason the warden was working with the Whistleblowers was due to Larry Berzette. I watched him have a fit because the warden asked a jail employee to do something. The warden was a good man.
