Rumor has it that Ana is on Administrative Leave

We have not confirmed that rumor.  It would definitely be a reason to have a celebration dance.

  1. A sheriff... On administrative leave?
Folks, this is the level of ignorance displayed on this blog daily.

  2. The people on this blog are ignorant, vengeful people that love to blame their problems on others. Such a sad life to live.

    1. Really ?? I guess reporting wrong doing on the part of the sheriff makes one vengeful?? So I again ask why do any of the Ana fans not take the time to correct Anas statements. From I'll never take good money to my investment came from retirement and savings to well ok I took the food money to I'll not adhere to an open records request. Not to mention that two search warrants made in Oct of last year and promised that arrests were imminent. Never happened. If you fans say it's wrong then why does she change her story on this weekly? Not one challenge to any of the defenders of these actions have been met. Why? You just can't defend corruption.

  3. The sheriff was scheduled to speak to a group of us men at Baptist Church's on Sunday. She didn't show up, call to cancel, or anything. That's what I call sad. Thank God Woody says she isn't running in the next election. By the way. Did you read the part of the blog that said "rumor". See if you can look up that definition.

    1. As an elected official, there is no such thing as "administrative leave", posting such a preposterous "rumor" displays a certain amount of ignorance of how government works.

    2. Really? weird, considering I just read an article regarding Sheriff Jeremy Floyd in Ottawa County, Oklahoma being on administrative leave, although under different circumstances then Franklin. My point here is it's probably rare, but still apparently possible a sheriff can be on administrative leave.

    3. In Oklahoma, sheriffs must work under another official, maybe a state auditor or some such. In Alabama, sheriffs are pretty much autonomous.

    4. Interesting, thank you for clearing that up. It's unfortunate Alabama is set up that way, per the fact it has tendencies to breed corruption based on the laws/legislation.

    1. Let's talk about dumb and being able to type properly....guess they being is not correct grammar so who is dumb? Just asking a simple question

  5. What's dumb is pointing out grammar when you have nothing else to add to the conversation.

  6. I guess autonious means Ana is above the law and don't have to answer to anyone or anything. She also can do as she pleases concerning law because she don't have to follow laws.

    1. Unfortunately, you're absolutely correct. Ana certainly took advantage of the citizens of Morgan County. She did as she pleased, doesn't feel she needs to answer to anyone, and once we got her into office turned the other cheek. I have much respect for Judge Kallon, and hope he makes a ruling that makes a point to anyone in the future that wants to become an elected official with an ulterior motive. I'm not revengeful, but I am disappointed. I wish the best for her but she clearly played us. There has to be reasonable consequences for this regardless if she has made changes to fix her wrong doings...she did this because she was forced to, it wasn't simply out of the goodness of her heart. Prior, she was cocky, egotistical and superior. It's a shame considering she had potential to use that energy, money, and confidence to do right by Morgan county citizens.

    2. AMEN Truth in Morgan County would be very welcoming...not wanting to call them for anything because you never knew who would show up...one of her cronies that might kill your beloved dog or possibly set you up as you had nice vehicles in the yard they could possibly make a profit from. One of the most disgusting things I have seen out of this administration is Justice for Aubie...beautiful Golden retriever killed by one of her thugs...google Justice for Aubie...they say he has killed over 46 dogs since being her Lt.

    3. She also stated in the Justice for Aubie...they had the apartment under surveillance for months...so why not know the dog was there that loved everybody...why not be prepared. A golden retriever? Please...they are not aggressive dogs. Sorry you could have done the right thing and reprimanded the Deputy..instead you threaten to sue the owner of the Facebook page who was a war veteran with PTSD who loved that dog. Week later we hear he shot a rat terrier in front of a family...exploded it to piecies in front of them..Deputies who have been there know it all...protecting our own. Good luck

    4. I'm terribly sorry for your loss, was it Ana Franklin who shot the dog or bones dumb @ss wilson? Ana probably can shoot down a few ounces of liquor, but not a dog...ok, maybe that was uncalled for...but good gracious it's the truth.

  7. If she would have only shown official bank records from ALL accounts to begin with...there would be no mess, but since she has refused to do it...all fingers point to guilty...the Feds need to get a hold of them...she promised the voters of this county they would be public for all to see...when she refuses official records there is something VERY wrong...she does not want the public to know it wasn't just the $160k she took...it was ALOT more...padding her attorney and cronies pockets.

  8. OMG...Barney needs to quit getting rich...do the right thing...quit standing up to a thief and losing all credibility in this county. Cuz if he tries to pull any strings on this mess and get the public to believe what she has done is right...then our County is doomed. Retirement may be a good option for you as well as the Sheriff.

  9. Anybody, besides me, notice most of these anti sheriff posts, by "anonymous" are written by the same person? Same talking points over and over. Maybe Glenda needs to re-hire Rick to do some writing.

    1. I can only vouch for myself sir/ma'am. I posted a couple of comments and some responded. After all, thousands probably read this blog. Either way, I image we are all speaking about the "talking points" because after all, it is in regards to the same subject. I believe most blogs are similar. I notice some points are repetitive, but at times new ideas or comments are added. It's likely some repetitiveness is to make a point and/or others share the same view, which does not equate to the same person commenting.

I imagine most people do not want their name posted for obvious reasons. You keep ridiculing a "Glenda" and a "Rick," you'll probably do so until you hear of another name.

Personally, I am definitely not anti sheriff, I just don't feel like the one we currently have holds our best interests. I wish her the best, but it's time to move forward with a new sheriff that is honest and has more integrity.

  10. Shinn said he gave an informal opinion to Franklin’s attorney and his law partner, Barney Lovelace, that the court order applied to Franklin.

A note Shinn attached to case law he gave Lovelace to back his opinion read: “Barney, the attached FR CiVP 25 (d) (1) answers your question to Sheriff Franklin’s liability in the (Sheriff Greg) Bartlett jail case.”
