Misleading Information?

Is Billable Barney and Ana"s attempts to have a civil case dismissed a surprise to anyone?   Is their claims of ongoing criminal investigation and pending arrest only a stall tactic to try to further spin or figure out a way to get out of the mess they are in?  Many of us who know what is happening also know in the big picture of things these stall tactics will mean little in the schema of things to come.  We tend to believe as important as these civil cases are, the criminal side of things with Title Marts and illegal search and seizure will be what is the true next big story.

  2. I have a question/ Who is paying Barney? My understanding is that the insurance company the county is under picks the lawyer and decides weather to fight a claim or just pay a claim. I didn't think that the Sheriff has a personal lawyer to advise them and tell them how to handle law issues. Just don't seem like this should be proper. A private lawyer that could be having clients who would be defendents in cases with the sheriffs dept.

    1. This is a very good question! Wonder how much he has been paid to be the personal lawyer of the Sheriff? Does the taxpayers / citizens have the right to know what our Sheriff pays her personal lawyer with taxpayer money?

    2. When someone brings a lawsuit against the sheriff in her official capacity as sheriff the county picks up the bill and once the deductible is met the County Insurance provided picks up the bill. Franklin has had her share of Federal Lawsuits since taking office. Approximately 36 lawsuits has been files against the Morgan County Sheriff's Office.

  3. Is the taxpayers paying for this full time lawyer that does not need would be defendants of the Sheriffs Office as clients because the Sheriff's cases are his cash cow?
