Foundation for Mental Health

Blogger Comments:

Folks, please do not forget about the Foundation for Mental Health.  The golf tournament is today.  You do not need to be a golfer to donate to this worthy cause.  The address is Foundation for Mental Health, Attn:  Development Office, 1316 Somerville Road S.E., Suite 1, Decatur, Alabama  35601.

In addition, as all our readers know a nonprofit Mental Health Organization requested access to the Morgan County Jail to conduct an inspection.  Sheriff Ana Franklin refused to admit the organization in to conduct an inspection.  Our question is why?  Franklin sent the request to Billable Barney Lovelace.  We do not believe that as of this date that request was honored.  Contact the Morgan County Sheriff's Office and ask them why.  Morgan County Sheriff's Office, (256) 351-4800.

The Foundation for Mental Health will host its fourth-annual charity golf tournament Thursday, Sept. 22, at Canebrake Golf Club in Athens.
The tournament supports psychiatric and mental health services provided by the Mental Health Center of North Central Alabama.
The first-place winner will receive $500; second place, $250; and third, $100. The player to make a hole-in-one on No. 3 will win a car from Jimmy Smith Buick-GMC.
Four special guests will address the players immediately before the event at the club, located at 23015 Founders Circle, including Morgan County Sheriff Ana Franklin, Limestone County Sheriff Mike Blakely, Decatur Police Chief Nate Allen and Athens Police Chief Floyd Johnson.
Event registration begins at 11:30. Lunch starts at noon. Brief presentations by the above mentioned guests begin at 12:50 p.m.
