Folks, we received a copy of a correction officer's identification badge that is issued to each new corrections officer when they are hired.
According to the corrections officer, each employee i.e., deputy, reserve deputy, clerk etc., receives their own identification card based on their specific position.
According to our contact if the Layton's were given "Honorary Badges" the badges or identifications would specify that they are honorary.
To say many of the MCSO employees are pissed that the Layton's have been designated as "Deputy" is an understatement.
After looking at the additional badge we received I must agree that it looks like based on your position withing the MCSO your badge reflects your specific position.
Maybe Sheriff Ana Franklin should explain to her employees why the Layton's have a badge.
