We received a request from a corrections officer who felt that it was unfair that Franklin terminated a corrections officer for failing to meet the probationary requirements.
The corrections officer reminded us that Franklin hired Jonathan Stebbins who had multiple arrests and a conviction prior to being hired as a corrections officer and multiple arrests during the six weeks he worked as a MCSO corrections officer.
Stebbins was allowed to resign without proper notice after he was arrested for burglary on January 31, 2013. Stebbins should have been fired before he was hired.
This is what happens when you run all of the qualified corrections officers off. You get employees like Stebbins and allow him to resign while you fire others.
