This Saturday the Corner Bakery at the corner of Somerville Road and 8th Street S.E. in Decatur will open one last time in honor of the late Kay Stevens. Her business partner and sister wants to open the bakery one last time in her sister's honor, and close it for good on their terms at the end of the business day Saturday. They did not want it to be closed on Roger Stevens terms when he committed the most vicious act of domestic violence when he murdered Kay at the bakery a few weeks ago. Our prayers and thoughts go out to the family this Saturday, we can only imagine that it will be a hard day for them.
We do however, hope that Sheriff Franklin will not take this day as another publicity stunt as she did when she treated Roger Stevens as if he was a victim as opposed to being a murderer on the day he took the life of Kay. We hope that Sheriff Franklin does what she does best this Saturday, and goes on a horse ride and stays away from this final open day at the Corner Bakery.
The sheriff posted on Facebook that she was setting up this year's food bank in honor of Kay Stevens. We spoke to some of the reserves who were somewhat disappointed with where some of the food went
during last years food drive. Remember the reason for the food drive.
Give with a clean heart and you will receive 10 fold, take from other and God may consider it a wish and take from you.
