Good news. An alert Decatur Police Office and an Alabama Wildlife Officer notified the MCSO that they believed they saw the escapee Robert Keith Felton near some train tracks.
The MCSO K-9 unit successfully found Felton. Way to go K-9 unit.
Now Sheriff! Why didn't you report the escapee to the media before a source within the MCSO did? Remember the good, the bad, and the ugly. Why is it that you have a knack for showing up for the media blitz where you are sure to get maxim positive media time but rarely show up for work?
Why do you consistently try and hide the bad and the ugly. It would be very easy for you to call a press conference and detail events that occur. There would be no question that you are running a transparent office. You are obligated to inform the public and alert the citizens of these type situations. The business owner in Decatur or Athens immediately reported the incident around 5:08 a.m. The media began reporting on the incident at 9:42 a.m based on a MCSO source. You had approximately 4 hours and 34 minutes to address the public of the incident with the escapee. Decatur Daily didn't report the incident until 10:49 a.m. Who's right on the work release location of the escapee? Corley or Channel 48 and other media sources?
This reminds me of the inmate that almost committed suicide in the jail. How many folks have heard about that incident? He almost died.
Things happen! We get it! The fact that you consistently do not report the bad and the ugly appears as a form of deception.
Now! What about the inconsistent reports of where the inmate worked. Athens or Decatur?
If the inmate was arrested for charges less than manufacturing METH why has he been in jail for so long? Was in being held without bond? Was he a Federal Inmate?
Why isn't work release restricted to Morgan County?
Who transported the inmate to and from the work site in Decatur or Athens?
